Desire2Learn has replaced WebCT
WebCT is no longer accessible
Desire2Learn (D2L) has replaced WebCT as the learning
management system for Montana State University. Online
and/or supplemental semester course offerings will be
handled by Desire2Learn.
If you still need to transition course content out
of WebCT into Desire2Learn, contact the Burns Technology
Center (email: msuwebct@montana.edu
or dial: 406-994-6550).
After July 1, costs associated with
retrieval of WebCT information will be the responsibility
of the academic unit. Beginning August 1,
the highest priority for online support staff will be
final preparation of D2L courses for fall; WebCT issues
will have lower priority.

Desire2Learn Training is available:
Bozeman Campus: See the training
schedule. Register now for a workshop. Recommended:
attend a Basics session to get a start on how to use
Desire2Learn before using it for an active course. Workshops
are ongoing - semester to semester. Learn
more.
Northern, Great Falls and Billings Campuses:
Check with individual campus Desire2Learn support for
training dates and times.
About the Desire2Learn (D2L) system: On
Desire2Learn, all sections of credit course offerings
campus-wide are automatically provisioned and available
to the instructor of record once registration begins
for each upcoming semester. Desire2Learn course rosters
are updated nightly to reflect registration updates
that occur in Banner. Faculty must choose to ‘make
active’ the credit course offerings they wish
to utilize during a semester. Desire2Learn servers are
maintained by Desire2Learn. Support for Desire2Learn
is unique to each of the four MSU campuses: Billings,
Bozeman, Great Falls and Havre.
