Putting together a course, workshop, or conference requires planning, know-how, and attention to details. Continuing Education staff can provide you with the technical and administrative support you need to make your course or event successful and fun.

Continuing Education has helped course/conference planners with:

Program Development

  • Determining goals and objectives
  • Recommending presenters
  • Negotiating arrangements with presenters (honorarium, travel expenses, AV, printing)

Budgeting

  • Developing and maintaining an expense budget
  • Developing price schedule (discounts for groups, late fees, etc.)
  • Maintaining income reports
  • Paying program expenses from registration income

Sponsors / Exhibits

  • Identifying sponsors/co-sponsors
  • Determining policy for sponsors/exhibits
  • Developing a plan for publicizing availability of space, assigning space and billing

Arranging for MSU credit

Facilities / Hospitality

  • Determining facility needs
  • Coordinating with hotel staff or with campus personnel to ensure conference needs are met
